Practical services for home, community and daily living
Solas provides flexible care and social support for older adults, adults with disabilities, families, carers and approved organisations. Each request is assessed before a service is agreed.
Home Care Support
Home support helps a person manage essential routines in familiar surroundings. Depending on assessed needs, this may include personal care, preparing simple meals, medication prompts, light household tasks and assistance following a hospital discharge.
Overnight support may be considered where the requested duties, environment and available capacity are suitable.
Disability Support
Disability support is built around the individual’s abilities, preferences and goals. It can cover daily living, developing practical skills, maintaining routines, accessing local opportunities and non-clinical behaviour support.
The purpose is to enable choice and progress while respecting the person’s pace and communication style.
Short-Term Respite Support
In-home respite provides temporary assistance while a family member or regular carer takes a planned break. The arrangement can support continuity, reduce pressure and help the person remain in a familiar setting.
Duration and duties are confirmed in advance.
Community Inclusion and Transport Assistance
Community support can help a person attend appointments, take part in activities, meet others and build confidence outside the home. Assistance may include planning the outing, accompaniment and suitable transport support where agreed.
Any transport arrangement must be appropriate, insured and included in the support plan.
Agency Staffing
Solas accepts staffing enquiries from healthcare, disability and social-care organisations that need temporary, relief or planned cover. Roles, qualifications, checks, duties and shift requirements are reviewed before personnel are proposed.
Availability reflects the current staffing pool and requested setting.
